Payrollix is a multi-client payroll platform purpose-built for accounting firms. We handle the full payroll, tax filing, and compliance stack so accountants can serve hundreds of clients without paying a per-seat tax on every one of them.

Our Story

Payrollix was founded in 2025 as a solo-founder project under ReasonWorks AI Inc. The starting point was a simple observation: accountants managing dozens or hundreds of payroll clients were being charged the same per-client rates as single-business owners. Gusto runs $40 or more per client per month before add-ons. ADP's pricing is opaque and quote-based. For a firm with 500 clients, that's an annual six-figure floor before a single return is filed.

We started Payrollix to fix that economics problem. Flat $12 per client per month, billed to the accounting firm, with no per-employee surcharges and no opaque tiering. The savings come from building the federal and state filing stack in-house rather than reselling someone else's.

Our Mission

Democratize payroll infrastructure for accounting firms. Remove the $35-50 per client per month floor that legacy providers have anchored the industry to. Payroll is plumbing — it should be priced like plumbing, not like premium SaaS.

Our goal is to make it economically viable for a small or mid-sized accounting firm to offer payroll to every client without it being a margin-killer or an operational burden.

What We Build

We own the full compliance stack rather than reselling third-party filing services. That includes:

• In-house IRS MeF e-filing — direct A2A channel for 941, 940, 943, 944, 945 and amendments. Not TaxBandits, not a reseller.
• In-house W-2, W-3, 1099-NEC, and 1096 generation — IRS-compliant PDFs and IRIS e-filing for information returns.
• 50-state coverage — quarterly withholding returns, periodic payments (ACH credit or debit, whichever the state makes easier), annual W-2/1099 transmittals, SUI wage filings, and new-hire reporting.
• Mobile apps for iOS and Android — native React Native apps for both employee and client portals.
• Integrations — Moov for ACH money movement, Middesk for KYB and state tax registration, Odoo and Shopify for accounting and commerce sync.

Why We Built This for Accountants

SMB-direct payroll providers optimize for one business at a time. The product surface, pricing, and workflows all assume a single owner logging in to run their own payroll. Accountants don't work that way.

• 500-1000 client scale. Our dashboard is built to manage hundreds of clients from a single accountant login — bulk payroll runs, bulk filings, bulk onboarding, and a multi-client overview that doesn't make you switch tenants for every action.
• Flat pricing economics. $12 per client per month, billed to the firm. Predictable, no per-employee surcharges, no surprise add-on fees for tax filings that should already be included.
• Multi-client dashboard. One place to see every client's payroll status, filing deadlines, tax notices, and onboarding state.
